I’m often asked if I can provide clients with a ‘template letter’ or my standard resume. I don’t do ‘Standard’ or ‘Template’.
After more than 30 years creating resumes and compiling totally individual application letters, geared specifically either to a position (preferred) or to a particular trade or profession, I shudder at the concept of standardised applications.
Every person is an individual, every position vacant is different in its criteria, and the two have to gel in a way that is natural, not robotic.
So I consider each application a work of art. It’s the difference between an original artwork, a limited edition, or a canvas print from KMart. I take pride in my work and enjoy great satisfaction in seeing people win the job they really set their heart on.
